Firm founder and principal attorney Ken Gibson has been practicing DWI and criminal defense in Texas for nearly two decades. In that time, Mr. Gibson has worked on over 3,000 driving while intoxicated cases and over 800 criminal cases.
Originally from Dallas, Mr. Gibson graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 and opened Ken’s Donuts on Guadalupe Street. After successfully running a small business for several years, Mr. Gibson decided to return to school and pursue a legal career. He sold the donut shop and enrolled at the Oklahoma City University School of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor degree in 1998.
In addition to his extensive courtroom experience and knowledge of Texas DWI law, Mr. Gibson:
• Has undergone field sobriety test training with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration—the same training taken by law enforcement officers
• Has attended the Robert F. Borkenstein course on Alcohol and Highway Safety, Testing, Research and Litigation—the same course taken by the prosecutor’s expert witness
• Has been trained under the Department of Transportation guidelines as an Intoxilyzer 5000 operator and technician—the same machine used to administer breathalyzer tests in Texas
• Is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar College of Texas, the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National DWI College
